From a Lifetime of Studying Companies and What Makes Them Great

My lifelong pursuit has been in studying what makes organizations successful and productive. What I have come to realize is that some of the basics are the things that we most often miss. It really is about the people. Sometimes we just do the wrong things and shut off their lights when we need them to be their brightest. Would we buy a new computer – an important resource – and hit it with a mallet? This seems absurd, but it can actually feel like that in organizations. You arrive only to be reminded of how much you don’t fit in, and of how many “opportunities” you have for working on your weaknesses… Rarely in organizations do we have the chance to truly play to our strengths and contribute in a way that matters to us.

Aligning All Levels of the Organization

My true passion is in working at all levels of an organization from the front line to the C suites, aligning the individuals and the organization so that they are all headed in the same direction.

Multicultural and Multilevel Engagement

From 25 years as Executive Director of San Joaquin Valley Young Leader’s Organization, a youth leadership program focused at introducing rural children to opportunities to expand their horizons. In my work with multicultural youth, I have developed skill and love for crafting a message that reaches all levels.

Love of world travel has opened my eyes to understanding diverse cultural perspectives and a deep curiosity about what each culture needs to thrive.

Collaborative Team Leader

Years as a leader in both the corporate world and outdoor adventures in mountaineering, skiing, climbing and kayaking have developed my strong ability to the collaborate within and lead groups to uncommon results.
